On Radio Days
Words & music by Paul Fegan © 2013

Verse I
When I awake I’m feeling
Like I couldn’t sleep another minute
As I face the sunshine
I welcome in the day that’s in it

Bridge
Down on the lawn
There’s a corner of green grass with my name on it

Verse II
As I make the bed I
Forget about the things I have to do
And the sound of the radio
Means I can spend the day with you

Bridge
Out on the lawn
Lies a corner of green grass with our names on it
Forget the phone
I don’t want anything to spoil this peace and quiet

Chorus
‘Cause I’m havin’ a good day
I’m havin’ a good day
‘Cause I’m havin’ a good day
I’m havin’ a good day

Verse III
Above on the clothes line
Linen dances out of time
Lose myself in the blue sky
Watching seagulls gently climb

Bridge
Here on the lawn
Is a corner of green grass with our names on it
Forget the phone
I don’t want anything to spoil this peace and quiet

Chorus
‘Cause I’m havin’ a good day
I’m havin’ a good day
I’m havin’ a good day
I’m havin’ a good day
‘Cause I’m havin’ a good day
I’m havin’ a good day
I’m havin’ a good day
I’m havin’ a good day
I’m havin’ a good day

This is the first song I've written in 15 years and putting it together involved an arduous battle with new technology and my own self-confidence. To that end, I'd like to thank the following people:
Bill McDunphy for being the first person to lend an ear to my ambitious plans back in January 2013 and agreeing to be part of them
Paul Laidlaw for taking the technological journey with me and providing ideas and extra processing
Ed Kirwan for listening to countless iterations of the song and providing lots of feedback to help it become the song it is today
Stephen Quinn for his no-nonsense advice and mastering
My many friends on social media who encouraged me and helped me overcome my procrastination
My family, who are the heart of this and whom I love very much
Thank you all.
